Many citizens don't realize the impact their everyday actions can have on our local waters. Rainfall can wash exposed soil, landscape debris, oil, fertilizers, pesticides and other pollutants into stormdrains or directly into our water. We use these waters for drinking, recreation and agriculture. Fish and other wildlife depend on clean water to survive.

Every yard and neighorhood is connected to local streams, rivers and lakes. The decisions you make in your lawn and garden directly influence the health of our region's waters. Move your mouse over the picture above or use the links to the left to see how you can minimize your impact.
